The previous versions of these had some maltyness and notes of oak barrel aged rum. These have more tartness: grape skins and cranberries. The fancy grade does have some rum barrel notes in the background, along with port wine and pipe tobacco. Give these unique tea Bizkits a try! These come in pressed 7g individual servings.

Steeped Western style. This was a very smooth and creamy hongcha with hay, bread, and earth notes. Lots of wood here, and it has a nice depth of flavor that makes me picture fancier woods like mahogany and teak. Quite rich and thick on the tongue. I found that I actually preferred the regular version, as it was more fruity and I liked the slight sharpness that it had. Both were good though!

Steeped Western style. A lovely mix of bread, wood, and a bit of malt with white-tea-like creamy hay and autumn leafy notes. Definitely got a touch of fruitiness (to me it was closer to plum skin than grape), along with a base of dark unsweetened cocoa powder and mineral earth. There's a nice intensity to it, not quite bitterness but approaching that. A nice, bracing one for the morning!
I tried preparing this one in gaiwan but it was very bitter :(
