Bi Luo Chun (High Grade pre-Qing Ming)
Sweet, fresh, nutty and beautiful to brew, this tea was harvested before the Qing Ming festival. This first flush harvest will have a higher concentration of amino acids and lower levels of catechins, making the taste sweeter and more complex. Complex but delicate and subtle. This isn't a tea to pair with barbecue.
I've been drinking a lot of this in the past few days. If you look at the photos of the brewed tea you can see how small the leaf is. That is because it was plucked early. It has a really nice long, sweet finish with hints of apricot. If you are brand new to tea in general or green tea in particular this isn't one I'd I'd recommend (that would be the Intergalactic Green or Dragon Well). But if you are familiar with and enjoy teas (like our Silver Needle) with a lot of complexity but more delicacy then give it a try.
